Turtle, a sacred figure in native symbolism representing Mother Earth as well as good health and long life.
The turtle is honored for saving mankind from the Great Flood. Stoically it carries the heavy burden of man on its shell. Many species of the turtle have 13 sections to their under-side believed to represent the cycle of the thirteen moons. The moons are a celestial symbol of motherhood.
Eagle Warrior, celebrates it’s spirit, strength, and protective powers.
The Eagle is an important part of Native Legends. It is the bird that flies above all others and is therefore the first to see what is over the horizon. The great bird of flight is the messenger of the Creator who warns us, Mankind, of what is to come, and is therefore regarded as our guardian or protector.
This sculpture is intended to guard and protect his keepers for all eternity.
Carved on the Six Nations Confederacy of the Grand, proudly made in Canada.
