Jason Carter

Born in 1981 in Kamloops, British Columbia, Jason Carter is a member of the Little Red River Cree Nation and currently resides and works in Edmonton, Alberta. He is one of Canada's most dynamic and accomplished visual artists, known for his work as a painter, sculptor, and author. At 31, Jason was the sole artist from Alberta to have a featured exhibition at Alberta House during Alberta Day at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, where he was recognized by the Honorable Lindsay Blackett during an International Press Conference. Jason was also commissioned by the Winter Light Festival for two consecutive years to design a billboard for their promotional campaign. On April 16, 2011, he debuted his first children's book, "Who Is Boo: The Curious Tales of One Trickster Rabbit,” inspired by the character Nanabozho, at the Royal Alberta Museum.
