Born in 1959
Simionie began to draw around 2010. He was inspired by his wife, well known artist Ningiukulu Teevee and his work is influenced by memories of watching his father Jamasie Teevee draw when Simionie was growing up. Simionie also used to work in the Kinngait Studios as an assistant lithographer in the late 1970’s and early 80’s. Aside from his visual art sensibilities, Simionie is a superb musician and plays several instruments with his band ‘Sikusiilaq Band.
