Aggeak Petaulassie (1922-1983) was an Inuit artist known for his skill in sculpture, particularly working with stone and inlay. He was born in Cape Dorset (now Kinngait), Nunavut, and became renowned for his distinctive carvings that often featured animals such as seals, birds, and spirit figures.

Petaulassie's work has been showcased in various exhibitions, including notable shows at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the Inuit Gallery of Vancouver, and the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies. His pieces are also part of public collections at institutions like the Canadian Museum of Civilization and the Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia.

His sculptures have been highly valued at auctions, with some pieces fetching significant sums, highlighting the appreciation and demand for his artistic contributions within the Inuit art community and beyond.
