Pee Ashevak
Pee Ashevak (1944–1983) was a renowned Inuit artist from Cape Dorset, Nunavut, Canada. Influenced by her traditional Inuit upbringing, Ashevak emerged as a significant figure in contemporary Inuit art. Her early exposure to Inuit culture and storytelling deeply informed her artistic vision.
Ashevak's career began in the late 1960s with the West Baffin Eskimo Cooperative, where she gained recognition for her distinctive printmaking and drawings.
