Qiatsuk Ragee

Qiatsuk Ragee is an Indigenous artist from the Inuit community, born on May 3, 1966, in Tikiraq, located on the west side of Cape Dorset (now Kinngait), in Nunavut, Canada. He comes from a large family, with five brothers and three sisters. His parents are Quppapik and Arninik Ragee. Qiatsuk has four children with his common-law wife, Sarah Samayualie, and they have one grandchild.

Qiatsuk began his journey into art in the 1980s and 1990s as a carver, but over time, he transitioned to graphic arts, where he has made significant contributions. His formal art education started in 2001 when he enrolled at the Adult Learning Centre in Cape Dorset, studying under Kyra Fisher. Qiatsuk's work primarily focuses on depicting Arctic wildlife, a theme central to his cultural heritage.

His artistic style reflects the rich traditions of Inuit art, yet it is marked by his unique perspective and contemporary influences. His works have been exhibited in various locations, including Calgary, Alberta, and have been featured in multiple galleries and auctions.
